Nothing says it’s time to sit down and write something for this space quite like realizing you’re watching a television program that has a girl whose boyfriend’s name is Booger. Maybe she will pick the night game. Maybe she won’t. Picking Monday night’s Detroit Lions-Chicago Bears game would seem a more likely possibility.
Meanwhile, the NFL’s department of information remains busy and has provided the following information (it was either use this or try to be creative):
Through Week 6, quarterbacks have a league-wide passer rating of 86.3 and completion percentage of 61.9. Both numbers would surpass records set in 2011 (84.3 passer rating) and 2007 (61.2 completion percentage), respectively.
The league-wide yards-per-pass attempt average (7.27) is on pace to be the highest of any season in the Super Bowl era.

1989: 7.15

* The league-wide kickoff-return average (24.7 yards) is on pace to be the highest of any season, eclipsing the record set last season (23.8).

* The New England have at least 350 total net yards in 15 consecutive games, the second-longest streak in NFL history. With a 350-yard (or more) game Sunday (Oct. 21) against the New York Jets, the Patriots would tie the St. Louis Rams (1999-2000) for the longest such streak in NFL annals (thank goodness for spellcheck). New England leads the NFL in total offense with 445.3 yards per game. The teams with the most consecutive games with 350+ total net yards in NFL history:

* On Oct. 14 against the Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers became the first player in NFL history with at least six touchdown passes against an undefeated team (5-0 or better). Sunday against St. Louis, he can join Pro Football Hall of Famer Len Dawson as the only players in NFL history to throw at least four touchdown passes in a game afterg a six-touchdown pass game. Dawson followed a six-TD game against Denver on Nov. 1, 1964 with four TD tosses against Oakland.

You have to admit it took great foresight to have Larissa ready as a substitute for those who come to this site merely for the fetching females featured on a daily basis. You have no idea how much planning went into that decision.
