The joys of being home include — among other things — a faster internet connection than your humble correspondent had in Canton, Ohio. Therefore, being able to provide video becomes a less daunting task.
Which explains why leaving Canton earlier than planned happened. After staying up till about 6 a.m. to post Saturday’s effort, it seemed reasonable to expect an unreasonable encore if we had remained in Canton. Of course, the downside to departing was missing the first exhibition (the NFL prefers to call them “preseason”) game of the 2013 season between the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins. Which means there was the possibility of one team — possibly both? — bringing along its cheerleaders.
Oh, the sacrifices we make to bring you quality content in a timely manner.
And so we have video of the seven new members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame who were enshrined Saturday (Aug. 3) in Canton. The video is of Larry Allen, Cris Carter, Curley Culp, Jonathan Ogden, Bill Parcells, Dave Robinson and Warren Sapp from Friday, when the former players and coach met the media as part of enshrinement weekend.
And a couple of Hall of Fame members for significantly longer. Receiver Raymond Berry was catching passes in the 1950s from legendary quarterback John Unitas, and linebacker Bobby Bell was one of the rocks of coach Hank Stram’s defense with the Kansas City Chiefs in the 1960s and ’70s.
Here is where we go for a daily dose of non-gratuitous video (thanks to the endless efforts of the editorial and video staffs at elliottharris.com and their generous definition of “gratuitous”):
