Reserve Judgment of Bulls’ Effort

March 27, 2012 @ No Comments

Random thoughts while waiting for the Chicago Bulls to have their starting five — including injured Richard Hamilton and reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Derrick Rose — ready for the postseason:

A photo of Chicago Luvabulls dancer Megan or one of Tim Tebow? For this, the Jets QB doesn't have a prayer.

* With two consecutive uninspired games, the Bulls may be showing the signs of wear and tear on their bench players who have seen more minutes than might have been anticipated. If it’s any consolation, when the postseason comes, coach Tom Thibodeau is unlikely to go with a 10-man rotation.

* When you are outrebounded 45-32 (as the Bulls were Monday in their 108-91 loss to the visiting Denver Nuggets), you have to wonder whether the Bulls need a bigger player hitting the boards or merely a bigger commitment to doing so.

* On the bright side for the Bulls, backup center Omer Asik had a quintuple single: 7 points, 6 rebounds, 5 blocked shots, 3 assists and 1 steal.

* On the not-so-bright side for the Bulls, guard C.J. Watson accounted for one-third of the team’s turnovers with five. Figuring out answers to statements like this was the only way some of us ever learned much math.

* If it’s any consolation to the Bulls, the Miami Heat lost on the road to the Indianapolis Pacers 105-90 Monday. The defeat marked the first time this season that the Heat has lost by double digits in consecutive contests.

* Chicago Public League coaches apparently are upset at the prospect of Ohio University’s John Groce becoming the University of Illinois basketball coach because … it seems primarily because he’s not a Public League coach. As if Illini athletic director Mike Thomas is going to pick someone without college coaching experience. Although at the rate the Illini are going, it might not be long before that happens.

* Introduced to the New York media at a press conference Monday, new Jets quarterback Tim Tebow said of the event that attracted more than 200 media members: “You can blame the guys upstairs. They wanted me to do it.” Proof God is a Jets fan? Oh, not that upstairs?

* How do you think former Bears backup QB Caleb Hanie will feel when his introductory press conference as Peyton Manning’s backup with the Denver Broncos barely draws double digits in terms of media members? Well, assuming he has a press conference.

* Speaking of Tebow, here is video that speaks to how excited he is (45 times, is that possible?) at his press conference:

For true excitement, how about some Luvabulls videos?

Tired of Luvabulls videos? OK, for the few who might be, here is the performance by the Swingin’ Seniors at the Bulls-Nugets game:

And postgame videos for those less interested in dancing:
