Mrs. Illinois an Interesting Interview

April 4, 2012 @ No Comments

As promised (well, to those of you out there who read last week about Lisa Sonnenberg), today we offer more of the new Mrs. Illinois. When last seen (certainly around here), Lisa was at a Bulls game. Which seems perfectly reasonable in that her husband Scott is the Senior Director of Corporate Partnerships for the team.

Mrs. Illinois Lisa Sonnenberg did present the game ball to the officials at a Bulls game last week.

Lisa is set to appear on “Sports & Torts” on Thursday (April 5) at noon Chicago time on talkzone.com with co-hosts David Spada and Elliott Harris. Also on the show: former Louisville coach Denny Crum and former St. Louis Hawks star Bob Pettit, one of the NBA’s top 50 players of all time.

Lisa is guaranteed to be an in-studio presence. David Spada is guaranteed to be at the Chicago Cubs season opener at Wrigley Field. He, too, will be in the studio with Lisa. How can that happen? Through the wonder of taping earlier in the week. So everybody should be happy.

Mrs. Illinois Lisa Sonnenberg also has been a bikini competitor (she won her first effort).

Speaking of the Cubs, Comcast SportsNet Cubs analyst Todd Hollandsworth hit a home run — metaphorically speaking — as part of the panel on Tuesday’s Sports AUTHORities series at the Arlington Heights Library. Moderator for the session was veteran Chicago sports scribe Jim O’Donnell with your humble correspondent the other piece of the panel. Todd painted a positive picture for the Cubs — even if that picture might be a season other than this year’s version.

For what it’s worth, he thinks the Cubs and White Sox very well could fare better than fair. Or at least better than some folks are forecasting.

Great questions from the audience. A good time was had by all.

Meanwhile, returning to Lisa, for those who simply are too impatient to wait for Thursday’s session, here is Lisa chatting with yours truly when we both were at last week’s Bulls game (but you still should check out her segment on “Sports & Torts”):

As long as we’re featuring fetching females, here’s a nice pair of lovely ladies: Katarina Van Derham and Bridget Marquardt. Your humble correspondent has had the pleasure of meeting them and spending quality time chatting with them. Katarina is a former St. Pauli Girl, and Bridget has been one of the stars of the Playboy-themed “Girls Next Door.”

Still speaking of lovely ladies, here is Catrinel Menghia, whom you may remember from her Super Bowl ad for Fiat. ‏

Soap-opera star Jack Wagner was eliminated from “Dancing With the Stars” on Tuesday’s show. Meaning Green Bay Packers receiver Donald Driver and television personality Maria Menounos, a fervent fan of Boston teams (but we’re fond of her regardless),
