It’s not officially college football season until Playboy releases its preseason All-America team. Thankfully, the publication has done so in its September issue that is out on newsstands and on i.Playboy.com.

Still speaking of college football and the like, the Big Ten Network celebrated its fifth anniversary with a gathering Thursday night (Aug. 30) in downtown Chicago. Among those present was conference commissioner Jim Delany, who took off his suit coat to play bags with his wife Kitty as part of the evening’s entertainment.
Asked after his impressive performance when bags might become an official NCAA sport, he offered that might occur in the mid to late 2020s. Presumbably sooner, if Delany can regain collegiate eligibility to compete.
If anyone asks, the cakes to celebrate the anniversary were delicious, although probably not low-cal.
Still speaking of college football (non-Big Ten), Kent State’s Andre Parker ran 58 yards with a fumbled punt against Towson State on Thursday. Obviously, he was confused about which direction he should be going. If you think he feels bad, imagine how the two Towson State players who tackled him must have felt. Not that any of that mattered. Muffed punts cannot be returned. So the play merely made for some good video — along with considerable confusion:
As promised, here is more video from the Chicago Luvabulls final dance-team auditions Aug. 29 to select the 25-woman squad. And, yes, there is even more video. If you’re patient, more video will be coming next week. If you’re impatient, more video will be coming next week. Some of us will be laboring on Labor Day, so rest assured there will be Luvabulls on Monday and Tuesday. Double your money back if there isn’t (what money????).

The Aug. 30 show features actress/model/TV personality April Rose and football hall of famer Jack Butler, a 2012 inductee to the shrine in Canton, Ohio.
