As promised Wednesday, here is a little more Anna Kournikova (for those of you — us — who can’t get enough of her, even if she no longer plays competitive tennis) from a media press conference on Monday:
The former tennis star, who will be on NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” that debuts this season on Sept. 20, had so much to say in a Monday media conference call that the editorial staff at elliottharris.com thought she should be spread out over two days.
Hey, any excuse to run additional photos, OK? OK.
Asked how she would ”prove herself” on season 12 of the show, Anna said:
“I didn’t want to be on ‘The Biggest Loser’ to be famous or to be on TV or to be on another magazine cover. I’ve done all of that in my teenage years. So for me, the whole appeal and the only reason I wanted to be on ‘The Biggest Loser’ was not to be a television star or any of those things. The most important was, to live and breathe exercise and help people and just have a positive experience with these contestants and change their lives.
“Really, it’s not about me. This show, for me personally, I don’t look at ‘The Biggest Loser’ as being about the trainers. The show is about the contestants and we are — I am — the support system and a professional on a big team of professionals that includes a nutritionist, a doctor, a psychologist, helping the cast members, and that’s how I look at myself. I’m not trying to prove myself at all, by any means. I’m just there to do my part of the job, which is to train and educate the contestants about exercise, fitness and a healthy lifestyle.”
