If you never have attended the Arnold Sports Festival, you might want to consider going to one. Provided that you can make it to Columbus, Ohio, the first weekend in March. And you have some interest in fitness, bodybuilding, etc. Or if you enjoy people-watching.
It always seems interesting that so many people who do attend are active types — whether it’s weight-lifting, bodybuilding, exercise and so on — who spend significant time standing in line waiting for some free goodies. Not that I have anything against free goodies. It’s the standing in line that can be bothersome. Then again, I’m not one of those active types, so wandering up and down the crowded aisles of the Columbus Convention Center serves as the closest thing to exercise that I’ll encounter over the weekend.
Let me amend that last statement. I watched a few minutes of Sandra Augustin conducting a cardio session, so I like to think that by osmosis perhaps I lost a pound or two. OK, I’ll settle for an ounce or two. Anyway, by the time I left that exhibit, I think I probably was breathing harder than Sandra was. Go figure.
Speaking of figures, the Arnold Classic held its pro figure, fitness and bodybuilding competition on Friday night. The results (with photos of the winners — because of certain restrictions, there will be no video from those events until possibly next week):

Familiar faces Lori Hess and Sal Dumbuya were at the Arnold Expo as they helped man (woman?) the Clarex booth. Clarex is supposed to provide mental clarity. Always lacking in that department, I took two. As evidence that the product works, I was able to find my car in the parking lot across from the convention center. On the first try. Clarex also is said to be effective for dealing with a hangover.
