You haven’t heard the last from Mike North. Especially if you listen to Fox Sports Radio (which is challenging in Chicago, where there is no Fox outlet). He is teaming with former NFL player Lincoln Kennedy for a night-time show for the next couple of weeks to replace Tony Bruno, who is returning to Philadelphia. No word whether the gig will turn into a full-time job for North, whose CBS Radio contract runs out in December. Word has it that Fox is looking at other possible replacements for Bruno’s time slot.
North anticipates a return to greater visibility (not to mention hearability, if that’s a word) when his CBS deal is over at the end of the year.
North has been working to expand his northtonorth.com Internet empire, which includes a cooking show featuring his wife Be-Be. It’s unclear whether Mike’s cooking skills are limited to hot dogs. But just in case, he might want to leave the cooking and baking to Be-Be.
Mike also still can be heard on WIND (560-AM) on Sundays as part of Fox Sports Radio. He also is featured on his own site northtonorth.com. In the name of full disclosure, the site also soon may feature a segment with your humble correspondent. And even if that was not the case, this item still would have been produced.
