Here’s what’s brewing in the world of beer (that marginally qualifies as sport, does it not?): St. Pauli Girl Jennifer England is on the cover of the September/October issue of Beer Magazine. How she ever beat out Homer Simpson for the honor, who knows?
Oh, maybe because the magazine features a cover story on the St. Pauli Girl — uh, oh, and the beer that she promotes. As fate (and magazine editors) would have it, Jennifer is featured just in time for Oktoberfest. Which, as everyone should know, starts in September. Of course.
The German holiday that magically has found its way across the ocean to America runs Sept. 17-Oct. 3. For those planning a trip to Munich or elsewhere in Germany.
That’s all well and good, you may say to yourself (unscientific data show a majority of visitors to this site indeed do talk to themselves more than once a day), but what does this have to do with anything of cosmic importance?
Well, it’s like this. Jennifer is to make Oktoberfest appearances in Cincinnati, Seattle and New York. The better news (well, it surely is for those of us residing in the Chicago area), she is scheduled to make a tour stop in Chicago, too, plus Philadelphia and Miami.
Which hopefully means an interview opportunity with the St. Pauli Girl. Otherwise known as what some of us like to think of as work.
