It’s tough to call in sick to work. Especially if the person to call is yourself. So even on days when we feel under the weather (in part because of the weather or allergies or whatever causes one’s normally empty head to feel all clogged up), we muddle on.
And so it is with this lastest posting.
Not that the subject matter — the lovely Deana Jones and Helena Chansky — are nothing to sneeze at. In the idiomatic sense, not the literal. They definitely deserve a chance for the visitor to this site to glance at photos and video of them.
Both women were part of the Sept. 24 NGA Windy City Classic in Skokie, Ill.
Deana was a figure competitor; Helana, normally a competitor, was a judge. The show was a sellout. Deana won. Helena’s virgin effort as a judge went smoothly.
And I was able to interview them both after the show (as well as enjoy some pizza with them at a nearby restaurant) and able to call it work. Or what I like to think of as work. Which helps explain why I really don’t like calling in sick to work. Even if it means talking to myself more than normal (assuming some of us can even use “normal” in describing any part of our existence).
Anyway, if you scroll down a little bit, you will be able to view some video with Deana and Helena.
