Nothing Like NFL Playoffs — Certainly Not in L.A.

January 12, 2014 @ No Comments

Sunday smorgasbord: A beautiful day for postseason football in a city with a rich NFL heritage. Women bundled in parkas and wearing fur-lined boots sauntered seemingly everywhere. The briskness in the air was almost appreciated. On a winter day, what else would you expect? A temperature reading in the frigid 50s can do that to you. Well, it can if you live in Los Angeles, once home to the Rams and Raiders. Or if you happen to be visiting L.A. And so it was on a sunny Saturday that people abandoned shorts sleeves — well, most people did — for more wintry attire.

Model Wendy Trent has reason to smile — even if her Colts lost Saturday.

* Meanwhile, in cities that do have NFL teams, the host Seattle Seahawks defeated the New Orleans Saints 23-16 and the host New England Patriots eliminated the Indianapolis Colts 43-22 in the Divisional Round. Homefield advantage helps. Being a better team does, too.

* The Chicago Bulls beat the Charlotte Bobcats 103-97. Forward Cartier Martin, freshly signed by the Bulls, had 11 points on 4-of-5 shooting (2-of-2 on three-pointers) from the field. No doubt someone will call Cartier the Tiffany on in-season acquisitions.

* For those of you scoring at home (or elsewhere), the Bulls are 3-0 since trading forward Luol Deng to Cleveland. The Cavaliers are 1-0. So it would appear to be a win-win-win-win situation.

* Thank you for Playboy Cybergirl of the Month for January Khloe Terae for making my month — if not considerably more — by following me on Twitter. Yes, you could say I’m all atwitter. For those who missed some considerable coverage (not to mention uncoverage of the lovely lass from Canada), check out Saturday’s (January 11) edition of this site.

* Speaking of new Twitter followers, thank you also to Wendy Trent. She might be slightly despondent today (and not because she became a Twitter follower of your humble correspondent). The Los Angeles-based model is an Indiana native and a Colts football fan. So she tweeted her disappointment about her team’s season-ending loss Saturday. Perhaps her photo today on this site will cheer her up. Early returns say her presence here certainly is cheering up parts of our audience.
