A former basketball player herself, Sarah Palin reportedly went one-on-one with Glen Rice when the former NBA standout was a college player at Michigan. And not on the basketball court.
If you know what we mean.
The National Enquirer reports that is part of The Rogue: Searching for The Real Sarah Palin by best-selling author Joe McGinniss. The book is to be released next week.
Palin and Rice reportedly hooked up when he was playing in the annual “Great Alaska Shootout” and Palin was a sports reporter with Anchorage television station KTUU. They are said to have had a one-night stand over Thanksgiving weekend 1987 in the dorm room of Palin’s younger sister at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
The Enquirer reports a Palin friend as the aggressor: “She hauled his ass down.”
Less than a year after that, Palin was pregnant by future husband Todd. The couple subsequently eloped.
Rice is said to confirm in the book the hookup with the future half-term governor of Alaska and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate.
McGinniss’s agent, David Larabell, told the New York Daily News in an email: “As this is an embargoed book I can’t comment on the specificity of its contents. Also, I haven’t seen the National Enquirer article. I don’t know about this instance, but they often get these reports right.”
Politics makes strange bedfellows indeed.
Getting screwed by politicians is one thing; that’s part of democracy, isn’t it? Getting screwed by politicians before they enter politics, well, that might be something potential politicians might want to think about.
