There is news about “The Biggest Loser.” And, no, this has nothing to do with the Chicago Cubs naming Dale Sveum their manager. Although if the shoe (or baseball cleat) fits, then so be it.
Instead we will focus on Anna Kournikova, who happens to be a favorite around here and happens to be more photogenic than Sveum. Well, certainly from this perspective she is. Anna is in her first season with NBC’s “The Biggest Loser,” the show that helps people shed pounds. NBC has decided to shed Anna, who had replaced Jillian Michaels.
The Hollywood Reporter said she clashed with folks who worked on the program and “some of the contestants found her a bit brash and unsympathetic. A source on the show actually called Kournikova ‘a nightmare.’ ”
Anna told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement: “I enjoyed my time on the Biggest Loser ranch. Although I will not be returning as a full time trainer on season 13, I will always be a part of The Biggest Loser family, and my commitment to bettering lives through health and fitness will continue.”
Speaking of favorite females around here and television shows, here is something on April Rose. The 2008 Maxim Magazine Hometown Hotties winner has remained part of the Maxim family ever since. Her latest effort includes this week’s installment of “Maximum Exposure.” And here it is, complete with cheerleaders (is this a great country or what?):
And, as they say on those late-night informercials, that’s not all. April also is featured on MTV2’s “Guy Code” that had its series debut Nov. 15. The show was the cable network’s most watched original series premiere with P12-34 (whoever they are) and was MTV2’s highest-rated series premiere since 2006, delivering a 0.34 P12-34 rating. Hey, that’s what MTV2 said. Maybe they can decipher what it means.
Anyway, congratulations to all parties concerned (although this space really only cares about April, but MTV2 never has to know that).
And last (but not least today — or any day) is Faydra Brown, whose photo you just might have noticed (assuming you are not blind — in which case viewing any of this could be really difficult). Faydra is competing Saturday at Fitness America in Las Vegas. I think it might be in the model division. For some reason, when we were chatting before she posed for photographer Don Bersano on Wednesday at HiFi Fitness in Chicago, my mind went blanker than usual. If that’s possible — humanly or otherwise.
When Don asked if your humble correspondent wanted to come downtown to watch the photo shoot and talk to Faydra, it took some time to figure out an answer. All of about one second. OK, maybe less.
In the never-ending quest for the Pulitzer Prize for Public Service (or whatever the cyberspace equivalent might be), the editorial staff at elliottharris.com is pleased to be able to provide an in-depth interview along with some footage from the photo shoot itself.
Hey, it’s work, as Don will attest. And I will attest for him. That is our story, and we are sticking to it.
