The Chicago Bulls, who suffered their first home loss of the season Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers, seemed to have some in the media lacking reason. In the locker room after the game, they asked Derrick Rose – who was well-defended — why he passed to an open Brian Scalabrine for an open three-point attempt that bounced off the rim with 22.9 to go and the Bulls down 92-90. Had the ball gone in, no doubt there would have been comparisons to Michael Jordan passing to John Paxson and/or Steve Kerr in legendary NBA Finals victories.
* Speaking of Scalabrine, he and rookie Jimmy Butler were on the court at the same time in the first quarter for the Bulls Wednesday night. Such creativity is to be admired, but some of us still are waiting for coach Tom Thibodeau to employ the Twin Towers of Joakim Noah and Omer Asik. Maybe in the NBA Finals?
* Speaking of the Pacers, if they look really hard, they should be able to find a John Ringo to team in the backcourt with Paul George, don’t you think? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
* Chicago Cubs pitcher Matt Garza was shown on the scoreboard video screen at the Bulls game Wednesday night. Wondering if Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein — of the Boston Espteins — has issued an edict that Cubs players must root for the Celtics. Or at least root against teams that are ahead of the Celtics.
* Speaking of the Cubs, Prince Fielder signing with the Detroit Tigers means the Cubs won’t be spending big bucks on the free-agent first baseman. It also means the Cubs can keep the cost of uniform fabric down considerably. The deal could save the Cubs hundreds of dollars.
* The Indianapolis Colts hired Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano as their coach. No word whether Colts Jim Irsay will have him move from Baltimore in the middle of night. Via Mayflower truck.
* Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow won’t golf in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am in February. Injury suffered in the team’s postseason-ending loss to the New England Patriots is the reason. Not any reluctance to being involved in an activity with fore play?
* Hooters Girls Gianna and Jackie — who work at the restaurant in Schaumburg, Ill. — will be in-studio guests on Thursday’s “Sports & Torts” with David Spada and Elliott Harris at noon (Chicago time) on talkzone.com. Also on the show (though not in studio) will be former football star Roger Craig. The program will be available in podcast. Suitable for listening to with the sound off.

And now, your recommended daily dose of April Rose in her “Maximum Exposure” videos. This one included the Lingerie Football League, swimsuit models and even a mention of the aforementioned Tim Tebow:
