Because of technical difficulties (aside from any thought processes involved), today’s effort will contain an abbreviated amount of verbiage. Which means the video portion of the program should be the prevailing product (as long as the editorial and video departments at elliottharris.com are up to the task, which thankfully they generally are).
Apologies to anyone expecting to read about the Chicago White Sox defeating the Detroit Tigers and/or the Chicago Cubs losing to the Cicinnati Reds — well, other than to observe that Travis Wood (7-9 with a 3.00 earned-run average) allowed four hits in eight innings in taking the Cubs loss in a 2-0 decision, while Chris Sale (8-11 with a 2.73 ERA) allowed two hits and was the winning pitcher for the Sox in a 6-2 victory. Let the record show simply both left-handers deserve to have better won-lost records than they ones they do. But that is the nature of baseball. It’s not always about how well you pitch as it can be when you pitch.
OK, so here we go with some non-gratuitous video (before one of us falls asleep for the third time before finishing putting together today’s effort):
