The Chicago Bliss and the Lingerie Football League won’t be the same. Tasha “Tank” Pryor no longer will be a part of the LFL game. The team’s star running back for the first two seasons of the league announced Tuesday on Facebook her LFL run is over.
Which means she won’t be on the field for the Oct. 7 game featuring the Bliss (0-1) against the Green Bay Chill (0-2) at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill. In the season opener, Tasha saw limited play on offense, as the Bliss used her on a defense that had trouble stopping its expansion opponent. Rookie ChrisDell Harris saw considerable time at running back in the Bliss opener.
Tasha had developed a following around the league and was one of the LFL’s standout performers.
Her farewell message on Facebook:
For all of you “Tank” fans, I will not be playing this Friday or any other for that matter. I have decided to quit the team after having a suspension handed down to me by LFL Founder/Owner/Commissioner/CEO/CFO Mitchell Mortaza. The suspension is due to me refusing to attend unpaid promotional events, amongst other things.
For those of you that are unaware of this, the ladies of the LFL are not… being compensated for the 2011/2012 season and in late March (19th) 2011, we were informed that practices and promotional events were no longer mandated due to nonpayment for this season. Oh yeah, we also had to pay a $45 fee in order to play this year. Ironically, in between that that time, circumsances have changed and attending (non paid) promtional events is now required. If you do not attend, there is a threat of a one game suspension, if not the full season (At least, that is what I was threatened with). In my case, I only received a one game suspension and as baffling as it may seem, if you go to LFL 360, it will say I am sitting out of Friday’s game due to an injury (that I do not have)……………. LIES, LIES AND MORE LIES!!!!
To add insult to injury, 72 hours later, my upstanding coach decided to openly express his “UNSAVORY” feelings about me to my teammates. Enough is Enough. I had no problem playing for free, because I never played football for the money, but beyond that, my time is voluntary! The ladies of LFL have worked far too hard, while putting our bodies and health at risk for this type of treatment. The only people reaping the (financial) benefits from our hard work is Mitchell and the coaches. We have proven ourselves as legitimate “BALLERS”, but that obviously isn’t enough.
I want to thank all of my fans for supporting me and the ladies of the Chicago Bliss. I regret that my LFL career ended in this manner, but as one door closes, another is sure to open. I just wanted to give you all a little insight as to what the ladies of this league have to endure, just to play and be a part of the LFL. I also wanted you to know the truth, regarding my exit.
Yours Truly,
Tasha “The Tank” Pryor
