Weathering Winter Proving to Be Quite a Challenge

It’s no fun to feel under the weather. Especially when the weather is what it is around here. Snow. Cold temperatures. In other words: winter. Only worse than usual. So feeling worse than usual feels natural. Kind of.

Whatever it is, it isn’t a whole lot of fun. A lot of sleep perhaps. After a bit of shoveling snow. If all this sounds familiar, please forgive the repetitive nature of this. But that seems to be the way winter has been — and continues to be — going. More snow and colder weather is in the forecast. At least around here. And a lot of other places, too.

One of the joys of modern technology is the ability to work from home. Or wherever computer access might be. So, even if you — OK, in this case merely your humble correspondent — do not feel well enough to go out and about or the elements might suggest it’s better to stay home rather than go out and about, you still can do things like provide great creative thought for type stuff like this.

On the bright side (or not-so-bright, as the case may be), there will be no pontificating and sniping or anything resembling any of that today. Instead we will have less text and more video. Sorry to disappoint those who would have it otherwise. Happy to please those who would have it like this on a regular basis.

Of course, there will be the regular reminder that today is Thursday (well, provided that yesterday was Wednesday). Which means it is time once again for a weekly wonder known as “Sports & Torts” with co-hosts David Spada and Elliott Harris. The interview show airs at noon Central time on Talkzone.com. The guests for the Feb. 6 show are former Arkansas football coach and athletic director Frank Broyles (whom some may remember also as a television analyst on college football games many years ago) and Pro Football Hall of Famer Fred Dean, who played for the San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers.
