Every once in a while, your humble correspondent stops by HiFi Fitness. One of these times it actually might be to work out. As if that’s going to happen. Well, it was just a fleeting thought.
Anyway, a recent visit to the downtown Chicago facility provided a chance to see if any familiar faces and/or sweating bodies were there. As luck would have it, the delightful Beth Horn was finishing up a session.
Beth is a fitness champion and trainer. On this occasion, she was the trainee under the tutelage of trainer Bob Dixon. You might recall Beth as “Venom” from NBC’s “American Gladiators.”
She also is forging a career as an actress. She was at the recent Chicago premiere for “Fancypants” in which she has a role. Beth plays “Animal Babe” in the wrestling-themed film that also stars Patrick Gleason, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Robert Carradine, Don “Hollywood” Yates, Richard Kind and Nicholas Turturro.
The movie’s plot involves a pro wrestler who fears conflict out of the ring. All the filming took place in Chicago. Joshua Russell is the writer/director on the flick.
Even better than having Beth’s movie out is the news that she is in a short feature from the same folks responsible for “Fancypants.”
