Today’s effort may feature less creativity and wit than usual (and I know that’s saying something). There is a good reason, of course. I want to be sure I possess my keenest powers of observation for Saturday night’s Cleveland Cavaliers-Chicago Bulls game at the United Center.
Well, at least for halftime.
That’s when the Luvabulls and other entertainment entities of the organization will put on their annual holiday extravaganza. So I need to be well-rested for something like that. In order to be well-rested, I need to be, well, rested. Which means going to sleep earlier than usual (we won’t use “earlier than normal” because there’s so little normal about any of this). Anyway, we do have some lovely odds — and an occasional end — for your reading and/or viewing pleasure.
From the fine folks at Bovada, (www.Bovada.lv, Twitter: @BovadaLV) come some odds (strictly for entertainment purposes; well, unless you actually decide to wager — in which case, don’t blame us for any losses but we gladly will accept any excess winnings you might accrue):

A reminder for those doing last-minute shopping. Or not. The JayTheJoke Holiday Cookbook is available at the very affordable price of free. Included are some of the classic recipes that Bill McCormick (the man behind the jaythejoke.com web site and who was instrumental in this site, too — but don’t hold that against him) has gathered from an interesting assortment of friends (and I count myself among those friends, despite lacking any degree of being interesting). The cookbook also has new contributors and new recipes, too; so, if you think you can use the 2012 version, be advised that the 2013 edition is even better. To download a copy of the cookbook, all you have to do is click here. You will be glad you did — even if you don’t make any of the recipes. There is joy in the cooknook, and with that commodity being in seemingly short supply these days, you won’t be sorry. Or double your money back (the mathematical department around here is fairly sure that two times free = no actual exchange of currency; if it’s not forget that money-back guarantee).
Here is where to go for a daily dose of non-gratuitous video (thanks to the editorial and video department at ElliottHarris.com and don’t know the meaning of taking a day off — and quite possibly don’t know the meaning of “gratuitous”):
