Bulls Set for Playoffs (Well, in One Regard)

April 13, 2012 @ No Comments

The Chicago Bulls are ready for the postseason. Such is the way life is in the immediate aftermath of their victory Thursday (April 12) over the Miami Heat 96-86 in overtime at the United Center. It was a game of cosmic proportions. Unless it was insignificant. OK, it possibly was a little of each — even if regular-season games differ from the postseason when a coach’s player rotation shrinks.

Because of a computer malfunction (that sounds so much better than saying it was my fault), videos of the Chicago Luvaulls will be posted later in the day. OK, make that Saturday (spending considerable time watching the White Sox and Cubs has a way of filling up a person’s day — particularly when the Cubs started late because of a rain delay).

Katarina Van Derham is a lovely dining companion, among other things.

OK. so actually the Bulls are more like ready to start selling playoff tickets. They are on sale Friday (April 13) at 11 a.m. at Bulls.com, 1-800-4NBA-TIX, the United Center and Ticketmaster. The tickets are for the first and second rounds.

Also, the Bulls will launch “See Red” campaign beginning Monday. Fans are urged to wear red to all home playoff games.

Bulls reserve guard C.J. Watson hit a three-point basket with 2.2 second left in regulation to force overtime.

“I tried to make a play on it,” said Miami’s Dwyane Wade, who scored 21 points. “Going from guarding Rip [Richard Hamilton] in one corner to go and try to make a play. … He still made a tough shot. … We never recovered back from that shot.”

“I was just trying to step up and fill in for D Rose,” said Watson, who had 16 points and nine assists.

D Rose would be none other than reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Derrick Rose, who scored a career-low two points on 1-of-13 shooting from the field.

“I’m not worried about my stats,” Rose said. “I’m just trying to get my rhythm to get ready for the okatiffs,

Katarina Van Derham was a "Sports & Torts" guest -- though not in this attire.

Thank you to Katarina Van Derham, Tom Heinsohn and Ken Venturi for being guests on “Sports & Torts” on Thursday with co-hosts David Spada and Elliott Harris on talkzone.com. Venturi if the former pro golfer and CBS golf analyst, Heinsohn is the former Boston Celtics star who still does some broadcasting for the team, and Katarina is the former St. Pauli Girl who is a model, makeup artist and entrepreneur. She is the only St. Pauli Girl to hold the title for two years. Some may see this mention as merely an excuse to run another picture of photogenic Katarina. Well, it may be that, but it also is an opportunity to solicit advertisers interested in being part of the “Sports & Torts” fun. To advertise, persons may contact David at david@injuryinillinois.com. Tasha Reign will be in the Chicago area for performances Friday and Saturday at Atlantis Gentlemen's Club in Ford Heights.

It’s not every day that this space runs a mention of an adult entertainer coming to the Chicago area. Maybe because such performers don’t come to the area on a daily basis? Who knows? All the editorial staff at elliottharris.com knows is Tasha Reign will be the headline performer Friday and Saturday for the five-year anniversary of Atlantis Gentlemen’s Club in Ford Heights. She is scheduled to take the stage at 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Information is available at AtlantisChicago.com.

The photo research staff around here was able to come up with a picture of Tasha that even has a sports theme.

“It’s such an honor to perform on the five-year anniversary of the club,” Tasha said. “I have some surprises planned for my routines in order to make sure we kick the celebration off right. It’s going to be a hot couple of nights in Chicago!”
