Forecast: Rose to Sit Out Bulls Game in Toronto

November 15, 2013 @ No Comments

Fearless Friday forecast: Anything the Chicago Bulls do against the Toronto Raptors will be front-page news in Canada only if Toronto mayor Rob Ford suits up for the Raptors (for those who have not been paying attention to what has been going on with Ford, you might want to take a few minutes to learn about all that — purely for entertainment purposes; we hate to be too educational around here).

If we are going to run a photo of someone from Toronto, chances are Khloe Terae is going to beat Rob Ford every time. Check out her video below.

* Speaking of the Bulls, Houston Rockets center Omer Asik (the former Chicago Bulls center who finds himself having gone from a starter with the Houston Rockets to Dwight Howard’s backup) will have his request to be traded granted, and Rockets fans won’t notice the difference.

* Still speaking of the Bulls, some Chicago fans will question guard Derrick Rose’s toughness because he sits out an occasional game (such as probably Friday’s because of a hamstring injury). The same fans will question the Bulls’ handling of Rose when he suffers another injury during a game.

* Speaking of injuries, the hard cast that Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has worn this week on his injured left ankle will end up being auctioned off.

* Still speaking of injuries, few folks will complain about Major League Baseball’s plan — designed to protect catchers — to limit contact at home plate. Well, with the possible exception of an orthopedic surgeon or two.

* Speaking of changes in baseball, MLB eventually will understand the idea behind replay is to make certain that umpires’ rulings are correct rather than to turn the process into some sort of game show in which managers have limited challenges, etc., as is the plan for owners to consider. Of course, MLB will get it right only after Bud Selig no longer is commissioner.

Time is running out to vote for “Sports & Torts” in the Podcastawards.com contest. “Sports & Torts” is among 10 finalists for best sports podcast. The weekly interview show — co-hosted by David Spada and Elliott Harris — airs on Thursdays at noon Central time on Talkzone.com. Voting ends Nov. 15. On the bright side, voting is reasonably quick and painless. To vote, go to podcastawards.com. After you vote, you will receive an email to verify your vote. Your vote will not count unless you respond to the email. If you don’t see the voting verification email, check out your spam or junk email folder (that’s where mine continue to go — yes, I am taking that personally).

Thank you to all who have voted in our effort for fame and fortune — or at least to win the contest. To vote, click here. Among our competition are sites from ESPN and CBS, so we need to battle the behemoths. We feel good about doing so — especially with your assistance. Thank you. David and I promise not to pester you with any more postings about voting for us. Well, until the next contest.
